Hi ,
Please can somebody assist me I have a W124 E230 Automatic 1989 sedan. Around a month ago my car started jerking and loosing power on the up hills so I took it into the mechanics. Three Mechanics later and my car is now barely able to drive. It will be fine in neutral but as soon as I put it ito gear it jerks and stalls. They have changed the rotar, distributor cap, leads, spark plugs (which had to be done twice as they are black), fuel distributor. We also bypassed the kickdown switch and that did not seem to help. We can hear the wine of the fuel pump, is that normal ? They said they checked the fuel pumps and filters. When we changed the fuel distributor it was driving fine for a day and then the next day it was back to the same thing!! I a, a single mom and cannot afford a new car please can someone help me with this.
(P.S: Any replies in very basic terms would be great

Good morning,
If your fuel pumps are making a lot of noise, you need to replace them, they are gone or are going to be. Here is the link where you can get some good used pumps for a good price.
Mercedes Fuel pump 0580254950. Also I would check the eha valve which is attached to the fuel distributor, that part will cause your car to stall and jerk.
