As you guys might know I just picked up a E430 2000 AWD. I dont have any navigation system but it does have a 6Disc CDChanger with some type of Weather Band thing built in and the steering wheel has some buttons to control that. But I would really like the Navigation System installed.

Is it better to buy that NAVCOM Mercedes stock one and have the dealer do it? or can I buy it myself (from where?) and install it myself?
Or is it better to have a aftermarket third party vendor one? (if so any recommendations?)

 

If you prefer to use your steering wheel controls in combination with a navigation unit (COMAND), you better go with an MB unit. If you have the technical skills to do the job - and a couple of hours spare time - you can try and retrofit a comand unit yourself.
