Take key out of the ignition

Hello Folks!!...;
This morning I went out and started the Benz. I hadn't run it in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd limber her up a bit. Soon as I stuck my key fob in the slot a message popped up on the info and said to take my key out of the ignition. WTF!!.... So I took it out and put it back in and the message read the same again. So I started it anyway, and it made a little pht-pht-pht noise from under the hood. Sounded like little air puffs..... single.... like from one cylinder. I let her warm up a bit and it was still there. MB Service writer had no clue so I'm asking the great MB in the sky (Your Forum) for a block of instruction..... It runs smooth, with the exception of our little air pop noise from under the engine cover Thank you for any block of instruction you can offer. And if I have this in the wrong section, please move it to where it belongs
Thanks
Fred
