Default Strut/ Torque Strut Bushing Issues

Hi - after a fast check-up my local dealer told me that the front torque strut bushings on my 2006 E350 needed to be replaced. I was not very concerned initially because I have the STAR service CD and am generally familiar with suspension, but I have procrastinated and my car has developed a really substantial "squeaking" sound from the front end. It has gradually gotten worse over the last couple of weeks and is now consistently there. I can cause the sound when I manually depress the front end. The struts do not appear to have any structural issues and I don't see any tell-tale signs of other suspension problems - anyone have any experience with torque strut bushings causing this kind of symptom? Torque strut issues and bushings seem to be a common repair across the forums, but I can't find anyone who isolated any similar issues to just the TS bushings. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!! Thanks
