Default starter not engaging.

1996 Mercedes E300
When turning the key to start, nothing happens.
Pulled the starter and ran voltage to it. The starter runs free.
Re-installed starter and ran voltage to small solenoid wire. The starter cranks fine.
I assume there is a relay that sends power to the solenoid whne the ignition key is turned.
Does anyone know where this relay is located?
Any help is very much apppreciated.

I now assume that I am on the right track, but I do not have
a wiring diagram for this car. I tried tracing the wire, but it
leads into a wire loom with others. If someone could lead me to
the relay then I can hopefully get this Mercedes running.
Thanks for any support.
