[&o]I have a '96 E320. This morning, after my wife got into and out of the car in a hurry, she called me and said the SRS came on suddenly and now will not go off. She has stopped and restarted the engine. She has recalibrated the tensioners and unbuckled and rebuckled the driver's side seat belt.
Is there any driver useable procedure to turn this light off? I'll take it to the dealer in time to get the sensors checked, but I want to turn the light off now if possible.
[:@]I found out today that there is no easy fix and it most likely is the SRS Control Unit which is not going to be cheap. Its going in to the dealer tomorrow ... I am sure to get hosed.

[:@]Well ... I took it to the dealer this morning ... they tell me the two front seat impact sensors are dead and need to be replaced ... a minimum of $905.00 for the repair. I didn't know that the front seats had crash sensors?? I know the driver's seat has a butt sensor that tells if someone is sitting in the seat ... but I thought the impact sensors were near the front bumpers.
Does the dealer's diagnosis make sense to those of you who know what's what?
