Hi people i have a 2004 e500 i tried to go for the top spped of the car but it cut @ 140.Is any way to delete that or reprogram it in the computer?

 

That is what the tires are max rated for,you blow a tire at 140 plus you are dead meat.
Better tires,modded chip,will do it but you are probably aero limited and unsafe beyond 140 anyway with stock suspension and Body profile.

Track days with your local club,after they check your ability to go fast at slower speeds.at 140mph you are going 205ft per second.Please do so at the track,at least there they only have to sweep up the parts.

you cluster has a version coding in it that will only let your car do 140 this can actually be deleted with a star machine at the dealer hahaha but the problem is finding a tech that will do . where are you putting that chip? and you can do 140 plus from l.a. to laughlin on the I40 during the week monday -friday i hit 170 going there a few years ago in my vet

 

The star machine will only reduce speed limiter ,the upper limit is burned into the ecu.
