Default Should I Buy a 2004 E320??

Hello All! I am considering purchasing a 2004 E320 w/ 47000 miles. I love the look and feel of the car. After reading a number of reviews, it seems as if this car experiences a number of problems! Mainly breaks and AC problems. Has anyone experienced similar problems with this yr & model?? It's had 4 recalls!! The car is going for $21.5. Any feedback or information on this yr & model would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I personaly would stay far away from this buy. The early W211 from 03-06 have had many issues like you said. In fact 04 being the worst from what I haveherd from many. That car that your looking could be a good one or it could not be. There where just too many bad ones to take the chance. I would say look for a 2002 E320, E430 or E55 for less and with about the same amount of miles on it. The W210 E class is far more of a solid car then the early W211. Either that or spend more and get 07 or newer E Class W211.

Thanks for the info!! I seem to get a 50/50 response on this!! Some say it's great..some say stay away? Only "major" problem I've seen are w/ the breaks.

What does the W211 stand for?

W211 is the chassis number that people sometime refer to. W211 Meaning in America any 03-09 E Class Sedan.

Got it!! I'm on the fence. The car is emaculate, w/ low miles and all the extras. Guess I'll just have to see what my gut tells me = ) Thanks again!!

Before jumping the gun I would seriously look into a 2002 E320. Or if you want a fast V8 you can buy the E55 AMG. Where are you located?

I'm located in Northern California. Not a bad price considering the miles!! (O2) The 04 body style, w/ sports package, has the newerlook! Some of the earlier models look a bit outdated to me. Also, the prices are a bit higher out here in Cali!! I'm getting a pretty good deal on it...Especially, from a dealership!

Unless somebody give that car to you for free ... donĀ“t do it. ItĀ“s a beautyful ride ... but lots of costly repairs (itĀ“s probably the previous owner already had fixed the main ones, but who knows). Try a 2002 E430, E320, or a 2007 E350 (a little more money on this, I know)
