Default SBC problem

Hello Mercedes fans...I have E320 (W211) 2004 model car...Nowadays, I have a problem according to SBC brake system. I went to service and they said that I have to change SBC brake modul, because in these models this modul has brake limit...and your limit has been finished(((...As I have been informaed this problem costs about 1500 EUR....Please, help me on this...I couldn't understand all of that...Why does Mercedes invetn such system???...and Do I have to change this SBC brake modul?? Thanks in advance!!!

those sbc units are lifetime replacement as per mercedes benz. or i believe 10 years. you should not have to pay for anything. call another dealer and ask them.ive replaced many with cars out of factory warranty. at no cost to customer. research before doing anything!!
