Default Reset service clock

unhooking the battery should reset all service indicators. If that doesnt work there is a reset plugin on the passenger side in the engine compartment near the firewall. Unless you have the reset tool you have to go to a dealer or a service center which has it. Sorry to say they usually dont reset for free. They got to pay for the tool somehow.

howie, do NOT disconnect the battery to reset your FSS counter. You'll have to re-enter your radio codes and everything else. Here's the procedure:

After approx. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10 000 miles (Canada: 15 000 km) for approx. 10 seconds.

Jet, I have a 98 E320 and your instructions for resetting the display did not work for me. I don' t think this model year has FSS, but a simple mileage timer instead. Do you know if its possible to reset the counter without a computer tool, and if so how?

      Thanks in advance,
      db

      Hope he's OK.

It has a sensor, I believe. At least it did tell me once to add oil. WDBJF65F1WA545323
