Reset service clock
<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" color=black size=4>I have a "99" E320 that is just off warranty. The service clock says that I have to "Service Now". I changed the oil myself with Mobile synthetic but I don't know how to reset the service clock.</FONT></P>

unhooking the battery should reset all service indicators. If that doesnt work there is a reset plugin on the passenger side in the engine compartment near the firewall. Unless you have the reset tool you have to go to a dealer or a service center which has it. Sorry to say they usually dont reset for free. They got to pay for the tool somehow<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">.
howie, do NOT disconnect the battery to reset your FSS counter. You'll have to re-enter your radio codes and everything else. Here's the procedure:</P>
After approx. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10 000 miles (Canada: 15 000 km) for approx. 10 seconds.

Jet, I have a 98 E320 and your instructions for resetting the display did not work for me. I don' t think this model year has FSS, but a simple mileage timer instead. Do you know if its possible to reset the counter without a computer tool, and if so how?
