Default Replacement LCD screen for Navigation

I just bought a used 2006 E350. It's a great car, but the sides of the LCD screen for the stereo and navigation are rubbed smooth from over cleaning which makes it difficult to view. This is the LCD screen built into the dash stereo unit. Are there any tips for repairing this, and if not, is it possible to replace the LCD screen? If so, where, and how much? Thanks.

Found a way to fix it. I looks like brand new, and all for $8.

That is great, because I shutter to think what a new one would cost. They wanted $625 for the LCD door-mirror on my CLK.
