My brother in law is giving me his old 1988 260 to just get it out of the driveway. Many problems such as windows not working sunroof not closing, no a/c, ect... Car runs fine otherwise. When I am lookng for parts such as window motors/sunroof motors, are parts from the 300 series of the same years the same as the 260? I've read in different places that the 260E is the 300 with the 2.6l engine. Is that right? does that mean most body parts are the same? thanks in advance for any help. i plan on doing the work myself.

 

I believe you have W124 chassis sedan or body style and that is what you have to go by when you looking for replacement parts as you have described. Engine size dosn't matter: 1986 to 1992 any model with 124 body: http://www.adsitco.com/reference/
