Smile Problem with the Mercedes E280 Central locking system

Hi,

I have problem with my Mercedes E280 1998 model. My central clocking fob seems to have lost range and doors don't open unless I'm really close to the door. The response is slow ( have to click few times before the door opens)
I have change the batteries in the fob which has not made much difference. The remote is working ok!!

Any suggestion would be appreciated. I was told that it could be the remote receiver antenna!

How do I prove that and where is it located and how easy is it going to be able to change it!

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Regards
MM
