Default PO 715 and PO720

My buddy picked up a 96 E320 that is throwing Po715 input turbine sensor circuit a and PO 720 output speed sensor I believe. The car just takes off in what I would call a fail safe mode and doesn't shift. He replaced the plate in the tranny that holds the solenoids with no success. Afterlooking around he said that there is tranny fluid that has wicked up the wires into the tranny contoller.
Is this common and does anybody know how much it costs (parts wise) and if that could be a cause of his problem?
Thanks in Advance!
Gary

Hi Gary, this is common problem on W163 ML cars, I was reading about it alot before I replaced my tranny. So I would believe that same hapened on your friend's E-class car.
Junk yard would be the best way, car-part.com should crossrefrence it for you.
