Default Oil Pan Gasket

Hello All- I just purchased a 1995 E320 and it runs great but it has a small oil leak. I am almost possitive it is the oil pan gasket. I would like to get a handle on what I am digging into before it turns in to one of those DIY's where you plan on it taking a couple of hours and next thing you know your car is in pieces and you are going to bed with grease in your hair. There is a tortion bar or something that runs directly under the pan. Can I just remove this without jacking up the engine? It looks like if I remove that bar I should have adequate room to drop the pan. Has anyone done this and am I on the right track?

Default RE: Oil Pan Gasket

yes engine has to be jacked for the exses of the samp, are sure its the samp leakin not comin from the topof the engine ,i would personaly wash the engine and check for leaks propley,if your engine is a v6 they are none to leak oil from the samp pan ,and if its stright 6 engines they usaly leak from the top of the engine, make its way down............
