Hi there, i'm new to the forum but have found it really good so far, i'm looking for some advice. I have just bought a 1997 E300TD.
There is a rubbing noise coming from the front passenger side, my friend says he thinks it sounds like a wheel bearing.
My question is, is it easy enough for me to have a go changing the bearing myself ? has anybody done this before ? was it a big job ? and can anybody point me in the direction of a step by step guide to do it ? the manual i have isn't too good.
Thanks in advance.
Wullie.

Hello,
I own a 97 E300D as well. Just a FYI, 96-97 were non Turbo, so it's not a TD. 98-99 were TD.
You could pay Alldatadiy 26 bucks and get a blow by blow instructions. It's 26 for the year. The factory manual is a DVD that cost 170 bucks.
I would start with jacking up the front wheel and check the play in it, spin it etc.
