Default Looking at e320s any suggestions?

A little over a year ago I purchased a used 500sl and eventhough I have had some minor problems, I really love the engineering and feel of the car. I need a 4 door car for my wife and I was looking at slightly used e320s. Can I obtain some feedback from E owners? I am looking at years 1999-2001. Thank you.

Pleased as punch, personally, with my 1999 E320 / W210. I like the outwardly
appearance of the 2000 better, though I roll my eyes at having to drop the bumper
simply to swap out headlights. I like the more simple features of direct control
of radio w/o the complexity of steering wheel controls. So far, my 99 has been
problem free after 1.5 yr of ownership. Currently 54k and has been brought in
for A/C work (covered by ext warranty). Rides like a boat which floats and rolls
more than prefer but I can change the shocks and move from 16 to 17" rims.
Don't need the niceties of COMMAND. Just give me a quiet, reliable car and
I"m happy. So far, so good.

(oh, brother has 2000 E32o and it has firmer ride, better around turns, 4matic
etc, and I drive it 1/2 of the time. still like my 99 MY)

Alot of 2001 e320's coming in off of Lease programs. I got one Black with Java interior, absolutely immaculate, 29000 miles, 17" 5 spoke rims and new Falken Ziex Z-rated tires,CPO. $24000. I is awesome. I searched sites like Consumer Reports, and the 2001 seemed to be the best of that E320 styling. Good luck. Chuck

I've had my 2000 for a year now, a lease buy back, and I have had the above problems with the car. The cats are almost as much as the car was! The evap senser was cheap and the window regulator broke this past weekend. The check engine light keeps coming on and there is nothing wrong with the car. My advice would be to turn around and run, not walk from the 98-02 E320. This is the worst car I have ever owned. When everything works I love it. If I could just go two months without a problem I'd be happy.
