Default Location of the evaporator temperature sensor???

I have a 1999 E430. My AC would let cold air for 3 minutes then it would let hot air. I read this forums and someone had the same problem as me and he replaced the evaporator temperature sensor. His problem went away. I think I am having the same problem. I already bought the sensor which was $50.60 at a dealer. Do anyone know where this sensor is located on 99 E430?

Thanks to all

look up under the dash above the gas pedal on the heater box, small 2 pin connector. give a little tug and the whole sensor will just pull out.

It is behind the instrument cluster in the a/c vent. The easiest way to get to it is to pop out the cluster. It just sits in the dash with some very small clips. Just pull it out, easily, and then follow the wiring to the ETS. You can get to it with out pulling the cluster too. It is just a little more difficult though.

Thank you guys! Aarlucas, you say under the dash. Is it behind the speed gages and all? If so I do have a tool to get the gahe instruments out.

Chassis 221, you say above the gas pedal? I took out the cover plastic. There are brake switches and all. Is that where I am suppouse to be looking at or is it under the dash right behind the speed gages?

Thans to All

chassis21, I look at the above gas pedal to the right and I do not see anything close to sensor I have. The sensor I have looks like a smaller scale size banana shape sensor. Tell me step by step to get to that sensor. Is it behind the AC vent? If so, how do I pop out the AC vent? Thank you so much!!

it is hard to see but it is there about elbow deep about behind the center vent height. pulling out the vent wont do anything, must use flashlight. its there i promise you. heater box behind climate control, radio, center vent. not on firewall.
