Default Jammed Steering Wheel

Hi Everyone,

My 1999 E320 steering wheel is jammed halfway in the down position. When I push the button to adjust it.. it makes a noise, but does not allow it to move up or down. It does allow it to telescope toward the driver or dash.

If anyone has had this problem please advise on a fix I can try myself or if my mechanic will just have to check it at T&M?

Thanks in advance,

John

try your memory buttons to see if it moves and also try moving the wheel all the way in and out and up and down. and then see if it works.

chassis - the wheel does telescope all the way to the dash or all the way toward the drive without problem. It will not move up/down with either the switch or memory button. When the switch is pushed it sounds like something is possibly jammed?

a1flyboy-
Was wondering what ever happened with your steering wheel issue?
I am having the same problem with my 05 E500 wagon. Any info would be great.

Thanking in advance
