I just bought a 2008 E350 but it did not come with the HID headlights. I purchesed a hid conversion kit off of EBAY. While doing some research on installing HID conversion kits I found some sites suggested using a seperate wiring harness to tie the power directly to the car battery connections. The kit I bought mentions nothing about this harness and simply shows connectiing the kit directly to the factory light plug-ins. Does any one know if not using the wiring harness could cause any problems to the electrical system or thevehicle computer?

 

Are these the whole units or just the bulbs and ballast?
Bulbs and ballast you wasted your money.The reflector in the stock setup is not made for the hid bulbs and it will throw very poor light and look like crap,
If you wire to the battery you will have even more problems.If you wire to the harness you may throw lamp malfunction warnings.Did you look at the fine print in the ad?about professional installation.It may even say do not install in any other way then the way they tell you to or if you damage the lights by doing so they are not returnable or you may damage the cars systems.

If you purchased HID kit, then the wiring harness should've been included.
