Ignition Stuck 1993 300ce
I just bought a 1993 300ce from my aunt. The car has been parked for a year now due to an apparent ceased ignition tumbler. The key will not go into the start or on position. I would like to fix this issue on the spot and drive it home rather than have it towed over 100 miles. My question is 1. Can this be oiled up and fixed sometimes? If not, then filed out and started up for the interim until I replace the part? ( I believe this is one way people steal cars) 2. How do I go about replacing the tumbler on this specific car.
Thank you in advance to any replies. Nice forum you guys have here. Looking forward to spending some time on it and learning about the cars.
Cheers,
James

RE: Ignition Stuck 1993 300ce
Visit the tech section on mercedesshop.com about ignition replacement.Do not file it out.You need to buy or build the thin metal picks that rotate it out.
study up real good before breaking into an mb ignition, sometimes it is cheaper to get an indie to do it,and everyone knows how much I regret having to say that.you can also inquire over on the 300ce section on mbworld.org
