I have a "88"300E with an auto trans.My problem is that to start the car I have to push the shift lever forward past it's detent for the safety switch to close.
My question is, does anybody know were this switch is located.I'm sure a simple adjustment will fix this but I just do not know were it is.

? you mean you cannot pull out the key? or cannot engage the park lock? or cannot start the ignition?
