Default How to Replace a 1998 Mercedes E320 3rd Brake Light Assembly

I know how to replace the bulb with no problem but there appears to be a short circuit in the assembly unit and I want to remove the whole thing but cannot figure out how to get this bad boy out.. Any assistance or directions to directions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

remove the back of the 3rd brake light where you would change the bulb then underneth there are 2 plastic clips that you push up to slide the 3rd lamp forward toward front of car to remove, usually the plastic melts and distorts the ground contact.

Thanks, you were right on the money even with the melting plastic. I bent the connector down a bit so it would make the connection better and I am back in business.

Thank you,
