I called MB to see how many fuel pumps I am supposed to have on my 1995 E320 Cabriolet. They said two, but all I see when I remove the cover is one. There is only the filter and one fuel pump in that area when I remove the cover. Where would the second one be?

 

My 2001 E430 has only one pump and fuel filter under the cover in front of the wheel.

Older Benzes like my 126 has two pumps.

 

The answer is ... it depends. My chassis number has one. The change was made 500 chassis numbers before mine. In other words early e320s had two.
