I was driving my 1997 E420 around, it ran and drove great until I tried to turn off the asr button so I could get on it and get sideways but it had no power whatsoever and starting misfiring while the “check engine” light came on saying “check engine electronics” on the dash and eventually just died out and after would just crank but not start. The car has 169k miles and was running beautifully beforehand. I could get on the gas without problem drive around for hours without a problem then boom! The car also had the “asr, Acc. Skid” light on prior to this and the asr button would only turn off right when the car was started it wouldn’t work while cruising around and trying to press the button randomly. If anyone could give me some tips or ideas to diagnose that would help tremendously as this is my daily driver.
