I tried to start the car and it refuses to start, when I turn the key it just makes a buzzing noise from behind the left air conditioning opening. I towed it to my mechanic and he checked all the relays and<SPAN class=EmailStyle15><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">wiring and everything looks fine </SPAN></SPAN>and he told me he was able to start it from the bottom of the car trough the starter but none of the gauges worked in the instrument panel and he thinks he has to look behind the dashboard. has anyone experienced the same problem? He shouldn't have to look behind the dashboard for anything. Does this car have the original engine wiring harness on it? Do you have the updated OVP relay installed? These are 2 critical factors that can cause these symptoms.

I had the same problem with my 1995 E 300 Diesel. When you mentioned the loss of the instruments that sounded familiar. In my case, one of the ceramicfuses was blown. I pulled out and checked the fuse associated with the instrument panel and sure enough it was bad. </P>
