Default Headlight lens faded & dingy

Can anyone tell me the best repair/refurbishment kit to clear up old faded looking headlight lenses?

All sorts of things have been tried from acid etching to Vinegar and as far as I know there is no repair that is adequate. The junk yard is an excellent place to get new lights (that are not frosted, otherwise don't buy them). I did not know that MB had this problem, what year and model?

Buy new ones I replaced the fog light covers on 90 300E looks brand new, they were not to expensive and considering they lasted 15 years the first time in 2022 you might have to replace again.

1998 E320. Scratches and scuff marks with some fading. I heard AutoZone has a product that might work. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Or you can upgrade to W211 style headlamps.

Wal*Mart sells the very thing to cure this sort of ****. When you go, look in automotive dept. (It makes sense AutoZone carries it too.)

Last time I checked....it was $20 per pack. Inside the package, there are three or four towelettes that are presoaked with different chemicals.

They are expensive. So read up carefully before you start wiping. I would wear a pair of gloves too. Chemicals!

Check out this product. It works pretty good for me.

Also look up Mother's Plastic polish, and PowerBall. Thay look like they do a good job together!

Good luck~!

Jimmy,

It was a lot of work but I wet sanded mine with 800 grit paper, then 1500 grit, then polished them with 3M FinesseIt II. They look great.
