Default Headlight bulb replacement...

I have a mercedes E300 Td 2000 model...

I can replace the bulb (h7) no problem but i find there is no room to get my hand in, trying to get my hand in plus hold onto the bulb without dropping it, is rather hard.......

Is it easier to remove the air filter to gain access.....

Have you got any tips to make it easier...........

Thanks in advance................

before the 2000 model, you mayned to remove the headlamp housing.

2000 model you don't need to remove anything. it is xenon isn't it?

Thanks for your reply.........

It's registered 2000, but it is a 99 model..............

The bulb is an h7..............

i have got the bulb in, the problem is putting the cover back on trying to pull the clips over the cover is awkward as there is only a small gap............

I took the airbox off today to get things sorted, the probem was the last owner (i have only had the car 2 months)took the light cover off and must of knocked the clip off the back and decided to put it back on upside down, so now it's all sorted..So in future i shouldn't have to remove the airbox.....
