1987 mercedes 260e..150,000 miles on it. Car was running fine no problems..Started the car drove down the road and it would not pick up any power..fluttering like it is running out of gas ..then it picks up power. Shut it off turn on start off again push on gas and as if you are going up hill in a VW NO POWER...Replaced filter and that was not it. It is like it is starving for gas. I did find out it has 2 fuel pumps..Hummm if it is the fule pump they want $600 for it..wonder if I could get one HIGH PERFORMANCE FUEL PUMP and get along with that IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM...Would really appreciate any suggestions? Thanks.
