Default E500 dual zone A/C problem

I own or rather the bank owns and lets me drive for a hefty monthly fee a '04 E500 with currently 66000 miles. The first warm day of the year I crank up the A/C and it is blowing nice and cold thru the front vents but hot thru the rear. All the temp controls are set to LO. I'm so not trying to go back to the dealer being they just got me for brakes and rotors and the B service. but I've got to get this resolved soon. My little mans due in June. Any help would be great.

I have the same problem with my 05 E500. Have you had any success in resolving this issue?

Hey guys, usually that problem is caused by a heater shutoff valve that is located under the wiper cowling. Its not that bad of a job and the part is not that expensive

Smile AC Control Valve

The following URL links to a complete DIY procedure with pictures to replace the control valve. Frankly, it doesn't appear difficult and several people have indicated that they have successfully replaced the valve in little more than one hour. Good luck...

Thanks a million for the info and the link. I took the car in to the dealer, they quoted me 250 plus in labor and 51.80 for the part. which I found online at Egermanparts for 38.00. I'll definetly do it myself. Thanks again.
