E430 Lemon!
I want to thank the individual who posted to this message board three years ago and warned prospective car buyers that Mercedes had incurred $1 billion in warrantee work on their cars. Fortunately, I didn't buy but I did lease an E430. Unfortunately, the quality work at the service level was as bad as the never-ending glitches (within 500 mi. the dashboard computer malfunctioned, followed by the headrest motor needing replacement (2X),faulty CD player, wiper trouble, electric seat malfunctions,rattling moon roof, etc, etc, etc). Some of these problems required three trips to the dealer to correct.
The latest event has pushed me over the edge and now requires some venting. After three times to the dealer complaining of an uneven ride, the svc dept told me I needed new tires, which I bought. The problem didn’t go away, and now I have been advised that the rear rims are dented and I need two new rims. Apparently the car didn’t need new tires after all. I have six months left on the lease. The car and the stock should be valued accordingly.
