I have a 1996 E320 and the driversrear window makes a noise "like it wants to roll down" but sounds like something is off track for a lack of knowledgeable terms to call it. So I assume the motor is finebut something else?
ALSO my passenger front window is just DEAD, no noise no nothing.
My question is, what in your opinions do I need specifically for my two problems so I may buy them on Ebay since dealer prices are soo much.
Also is it something I can change myself on these two problems?
Thanks in advance for any help

Hello, First problem is probably due to the "dreaded "window regulator, a VERY common problem on these cars. I have purchased at least three on the internet, or e-bay app. $50.00.
Second problem could be a switch, don't you have diffrerent switches to control the pass window? do any of the switches activate that window? or just the one on the door iteself does not work? The window does have a motor in the door.
You need to isolate what is wrong.
If you are handy- DIY fix is not that hard. I saw a step by step someplace on the internet/ maybe even an old post on this forum on how to take the door panels off. Good luck! Hope this helps, there are alot of very intellegent people on this forum hopefully they can also help. - Jack

I replaced my window regulator on the passenger side. Unfortunately, there is an underlying problem with the window alignment, because Iam back where I started, The window does not go all the way up (last 2-3 teeth of the window regulator are stripped once again). So that was a waste of money. Plus, the previous owner tried fixing the problem (I assume) but wrecked the door panel in trying to take it off, and that cost me money for another door panel.
