Default E320 check engine light?

I have a 04 E320 and i went to start it today and it had trouble starting but after a minute of trying itthen started up. It didn't sound like there was a problem with the battery because it was trying to turn over. When it started up the check engine light came on. It starts up fine now but the engine light is still on. It's not running hot or anything....anyone have any ideas?

Don't know where you live .If in the states go to autozone or shucks kraggens etc and get your codes read for free and post them here.Do not run to the dealer.it could be something as simple as a loose gas cap.
you can buy an obd2 code reader from harborfreight tools if you have one in your area item 94169
that way you can learn to read your own codes.

My '04 E320 did the same thing at around 50K and it turned out to be a bad air mass box. Tried to clean it up and it just kept fouling out. Not too expensive to replace and easy to get to. Runs fine now. By the way, Ohlord...could you call me or e-mail me about my CLK500? Regards, Bob
