E230 fuel gauge problem

Registering full all the time when connected to sender unit. if disconnected still registers full but gradually comes down to empty after an hour or so? have put new sender in, still does the same ?

Have you tried to disconnect it from the instrument cluster and see if it drops to empty? It is quite a common problem with the IC too.
