In the trunk, pull down the back panel against the back seat. There is the gas tank and youll see the fuel sending unit there, it has 1 plug on it. there is a special tool to remove it but you can use needle nose pliers or even channel locks. twist to the left 1/4 turn and pull out of the gas tank. good luck

yes its an O-ring, should come with a new sending unit. whats wrong with it? the float probably still moves, electrically they fail.

Ive been a wrench head for generations, First MB, love the vehicle but the PO was a rich brat who just bought a $100,000. BMW 4 years ago and the MB was just sitting around. 86K on odometer. $4,500. taker home.

Id say sounds like a great deal, if its been taken care of, but even if it wasnt, probably still worth it.

There are a couple of other issues to be repaired, there is a small oil leak on the front of the motor on the drivers side.
Should I be posting in this another area like the General Tech section?
