I am new to mercedes.
Recently had a lorry drive into the rear of my Range Rover which may be written off.
Well this time my wife has a say in which car we buy and we have found a nice 2000
model E-240 V6.
Now with my Land overs I have always done maintanance and repairs myself when possible,
so changing to an unknown marque is quite daunting, and was wondering if there are known
problems with this vehicle type or even just components such as engin, gearbox, etc.
Hope you guys and girls can help.

Hi,
MB is no different to most modern makes.
Read the forum for a few hours and you will soon see the sort of things that go wrong. Usually electronics, remote keys and AC!!
Modern electronics need special tools (scanners etc) but this is the same for any modern car when something goes wrong.
Only real point worth noting is that OE MB parts are MEGA expensive unless you get via eBay etc.
Stuart.
