Disable Traction Control
I work in a chassis dyno facility. We have a 2006 E320 and can't run it on the dyno since the traction control kicks in (limits speed) when the front wheels aren't turning. Does anyone have a procedure to shut off the traction control.

RE: Disable Traction Control
Surely you have this problem with lot of Traction Controlled vehicles?
Likewise what do you do with 4matic? Stuart |
RE: Disable Traction Control
For most of our test vehicles we can interface with the vehicle computer and disable the features.
As an update, I found a method used on other mercedes models. It worked on ours too. Put the ket in position 1. Immediately hit the odo reset button three times. The console will flash and change to a battery voltage reading. Use the arrows on the steering wheel to scroll through options. When you get to ESP/ABS... hit the plus sign to disable. Now start the vehicle. NOTE OF CAUTION On the other models they say it resets when you remove the key and restart. That is NOT the case with this one. You have to reenable it through the menu. BE SURE to check this before taking the vehicle out on the road. |
RE: Disable Traction Control
I suspect this procedure will only work on the most recent MB models.
However I will try in the morning on my 2000 S Class. Glad you got it sorted. Stuart |
