Hi Everyone ! Just bought a 98 E320 for my daughter...she calls me to say that the sun (moon ?) roof was open and the windows were halfway rolled down (by themselves), and the car wouldn't start. I drove out to her and tried to start the car, with no luck. I decided to jumpstart it, thinking that might 'override' whatever the problem was...it worked. She drove it home, and re-started it no problem, but now it won't start again.

Some history: I bought it from a gal who said it just 'died' on the freeway. I replaced the alternator and it drove like a champ...albeit with some intermittent electrical problems (like window not going back up, but then I pushed on center of switch and it went up)... I came across some threads about the key fob, but it turns freely, so don't think that's the problem. Anyone have any experience with this ? Thanks !! ~Dan
