Check engine light on my 1994 e320 convertible is on again after being reset,was told by a mechanic a new wiring harnes is needed setting me back a $1000.00
Would like to get a little feedback b4 spending a $1000.00. I know the light comes on for a no of reasons but want to make sure it is taken care of correctly,not sure the mechanic knows his staff so changing the wiring harnes may be his way out.Has anyone exprienced a similar situation?feedback?

94-95 Cars with 104 motor or E320's have a problem with the engine wiring harness. it gets brittle and cracks apart and then the bare wires touch and cause many numerous running complaints. it is usually the first thing the tech will tell you to repair before trying to diagnose any problems.

 

i curently own a 1994 e420 and i love it, i am now thinking about purshace other one but newer and i wondered if any one out there new what year they stop making them by hand?
