any advice on tires for 1992 300E 2.6
Hello, all. I'm new to the forum and need advice on tires.
I have a 1992 300E 2.6 with 206,100 miles. It's time to get new tires again. I've always gone to the dealership to purchase Michelins over the life of my car. I know ... it's expensive, they recently quoted me $800 for tires and mounting. (I paid $700 in October 2006).
Anyway, I'm shopping around for a better deal and I only see two kinds of Michelins available in my size (196/65/R15). I always thought Michelin was top of the line - has that changed in the past few years?
I only drive about 50 miles/week and make about two to three 500-mile roadtrips each year. I want the best quality for my money and in my area, Michelins are running from $119 to $123.
Any advice would be great ... thanks!

First and foremost, which area do you live in? If you are in California, best and cheapest way to go is with Costco, though they have limited selection (They probably have your size) they carry quality tires, Michellin is one of them. Can't beat their price, service and warranty (They cover the life of the tires for road hazard damage).
