Default 96- E320 radio malfunction

Hi everybody:
My radio antenna seems to be disconected. When turning on the radio, the antenna does not go up, while it does when I turn on the phone. The reception in AM is really awful. Thus, I suspect that the antenna is disconected, either at the antenna in the back or at the console. Does anybody know how to check this out and/or how to get access to the antenna connection at any of those two points.

My ears will be extremely grateful.
Zardio

Thanks guys (and girls), Great Site, Great people

Well, if you're antenna doesn't go up, then your reception will definately not be good, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's disconnected. You mentioned that it did go up when you use the phone, meaning that something is probably still working right. Do you know how your phone is connected to the antenna? Does it run through to the radio, or does the radio connection run to the phone?

I should have said that the radio is disconected from the antenna but not the phone. When I turn on the phone, the antenna goes up. But that doesn't mean that I get better reception on the radio. Therefore I think that the radio is not connected. Whether it runs through the radio or viceversa, is probably one of the things that I need to find out. That's why I was asking if anybody new how to get access to the antenna connection at either the antenna in the back or at the console.
Suggestions still gladly accepted

Zardio
