Well, the timing chain snapped and roasted the head so... I figured i would take 6 - 7months and redo the engine bay. I want to convert to a 5spd transmission and a DOHC motor from a 91+ 320E.

Q#1 - Did the 320e or any other 300series come with a manual transmission? If so, what is the transmission code for it? If not, what kind of Transmission upgrades are possible with a MB automatic transmission?

Q#2 - Will the 3.2L DOHC be a direct drop in or will i have to relocate motor suspension mounts?

Q#3 - Will i have to a full chasis harness or just the engine bay?

I am not sure about your model, but from what I know all MB imported to US in 80's come with automatic transmissions.
Only manuals here are private imports.
Converting is not that easy. You need to get new shifter as well.
