2004 E500 Crazy radio
I just bought this 2004 armored E500, spotless, clean as new. It has the karman-hardon nav system. Well, I have had three W211s the last 3 years, this is the crazyest radio of all. At the begining everytime I want to change from CD to radio or viceversa it says there is no comunication with the "system". After a dozen tries it works. Now the right side of the car has no sound, you can only hear the left side. The problems with changing from CD, tape or radio continues. I supposed MB was fixing these annoying problems from a while ago. Is there any kind of warranty for these faulty units? Or should I go to Best Buy and buy a radio?

most likely a software issue with either the command unit or audio gateway...cound be a simple as the dealer performing a software update. As far as Best Buy goes, aftermarket radios will not cominucate with the telematics system in your vehicle.

RE: 2004 E500 Crazy radio
The dealer already made a software update, and as usual after that the radio was even more crazy than before (believe me I have had three 2003-04 W211s, they has to do more than one software update everytime). They say there is a problem with the audio gateway and needs to be replaced ... big $$$$. That's why I would like to know if there is some kind of warranty, ala SBC, for this nav/stereo problems. About Best Buy I was been sarcastic.
