2004 E320 Desicions Decisions
Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a 2004 E320 with 22k miles on it and an asking price of about $30k. I like the E-Class but I'm not familiar with their reliability since I've had a 2001 ML 430 with serious mechanical flaws. Can anyone fill me in with their experiences and ownership costs for this model? I've heard that Mercedes' six cylinder engine is more reliable than the 8 cylinder. Any truth to this? I appreciate your help.

RE: 2004 E320 Desicions Decisions
I have a 2002 E 320 that I purchased for around $29K In the six months that I had it, the catalytic converter and the rack and pinion steering had to be replaced. The interior headlamp light had to be replaced. The car had 32K when I bought it, and 34K when these repairs became necessary. My experience is " it is imperative to buy a pre-certified warranty" as you will be spending plenty of time in the shop, and let's hope the repair is covered under warranty.

RE: 2004 E320 Desicions Decisions
I have 4 MBs, a 1998 E320, a tank really, no problems in 5 years, a 2000 E320, a nightmare already sleeping in a used car dealer lot, a 2003 ML350, no problems except the OEM tires, and a 2003 E320, another nightmare but beautyful. Please save yourself, buy a car with a full waranty and enjoy it no matter all the problems it could develop.
