I'm a newbie to the MB board, but my Dad is looking at a new car and I can buy his MB E320 AWD wagon. It is in good shape and has about 78K on it. I looked it up on edmunds and it's range is 12,800 to 16,000. He has had a fair amount of headlight/bulb issues, a couple of wheel sensors etc....other than that he hasenjoyed the car.

Can you guys tell me if this2001 E320would be a good buy and if so, what should I offer him?

Is it one of the better or worse from a reliability perspective? Any major service items I would be facing at this point?

Forget Edmonds,He's family!Make a easy deal you buy it for 11k and that leaves you room for eventual repairs,great car if it is in nice shape.Bought one 1999 e320 wagon several months ago,mint condition,white.$9500 private party 2years and 10k miles less than yours so a grand per year seems fair,until you get to the newer ones which climb up in price like a rocket.
the dealer won't give him a real non adjusted 11,000 for it and he'd have to go through the dealer and classified hassle,so you would be saving him time and aggrivation.
