Default 2000 E320

I just got a 2000 E320 with 76000 miles on it. It has a 17" aftermarket alloy rims with 45 series lo profile tires. On rough pavement, Ican feel that rough ride and hear rattles in the headliner. Any one out there experienced this? I surely appreciate any advise or solution. Thanks.

close roof. close roof cover. press cover upwards at rear of opening. **** head sideways and with
strong flashlight, you will see metal pressure plate. when you go over bumps, the roof cover rattles against this skelton metal plate.

easy fix but unglamorous: stick small fabric between roof liner and pressure plate. this will apply
more upward pressure on the roof hatch cover.

intermediate fix: attach cushion along the rear/top edge of the metal pressure plate

advance fix: disassemble sunroof and do what you need to do the above, or some variation-on-a
theme of the above. this disassembly will also give you more elbow room to work with. if you opt
for the cheap fix (no disassembly) you have an extremely limited room to try and install cushions or
rags and if you're sloppy, the roof liner will show imprint of the rag/cloth.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. I did peek into the area. Is the pressure plate that rib that runs across the width of the car, over the rear seat? By the way do you know the concern about using K&N air filter in an MB?

Low profile tires do cause these issues especially the rough ride. Thought about low profile tires on my 300E but decide against it due to ride issues.
