I have a e320 with a trans issue

to start i hve replaced the trans and ran and drove great.

left the sun roof down water got all over everything! sucks i know.

So i started up and drove about 5 miles and then parked with car running while i waited for friend to return to car and reversed ( Clunk ) and then drive ( clunk ) did not shift from there on out.

Ideas please? thinking shifter.

 

YUP, shifter electronics got wet. youll need one, also the gear display on the cluster usually will be blank now.

 

you have shorted out the tramssion module,,and maybe the interlock module as well, i am very sorry this happened,,as it happened to me and it cost me a bundle at MB,,I WONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN,,and putting drinks in the cup holders is a no no,,,,if you spill down on the shifter it leaks down and shorts out the modules,,and boy ouch,,it cost me 2900.00
