looking for a little advice i am thinking of buying a 1997 e420 sport it has 30.000 miles on it the car is super clean i dont know much about mercedes any info wood help like what can i aspect for maintens or any none problems thanks for any help!!!!

 

The E420 is a great car. Bear in mind that it was produced for only one year, and some of the parts, e.g. the MAF, can be more expensive than the E430. If you are looking for "performance mods" down the line, there are basically none; the E430 is a better choice if boosting the performance is one of your purchase criteria. The E420 is what it is....

The M119 engine is a jewel, and has quite a history; the 5.0 liter version, in race trim was used to win at Le Mans and won Mercedes a manufacturer's championship back in the late 1980's.

30K miles is VERY low, and I would get a CarFax run to confirm the mileage. Also, not being driven is not really a good thing for these cars, so a pre-purchase inspection by a competent tech is a must.
