Default 1997 E320 ventilation is kind of weak!

I just bought my sister 1997 E320…Car was well taken care of and you couldn’t beat the price. Anyways, I was playing around with all the buttons/gadgets over the weekend and noticed that even when I have the AC on full blast, the fan is kind of weak. The air coming out if very cold, but for full blast I would expect a lot more air from the vents.

I have try setting the ventilation on manual and auto with re-circulation on/off. With re-circulation button engaged, there is a bit more air flow but not enough to move your hair…if you know what I mean. Is this kind of normal for this model/year?

you either need a blower motor or a blower regulator. at a benz dealer usually both will cost you about 5-7 hundred bucks and about 1 hour labor.

you may be able to retrofit a blower regulator from a 140 series for about 25% of that so
check around for tips on this on peachparts.com, mbworld, and benzworld

I double checked this morning and my original description of the problem was incorrect.

There is variation in the speed of the blower fan. From lowest to highest settings, the blower fan will vary. Just at max speed, there is not a whole lot of air being moved.

Am still looking at the blower regulator has been the problem here?
