Hi everyone,
I'm about to take a look at a 94 E420. I have owned Merc diesels in the past but was wondering if anyone has any tips on what I should look for when inspecting this.

Is this model considered a reliable one, what makes them cranky?
Gas milegae? Anything will be appreciated.

If anyone has a good link for info, that would be appreciated as well.

top shape private party about 4g tops,any higher and look for newer lower miles.
What is your budget?
inspect if you are really experienced in that sort of thing or get it inspected by a non partial shop.
they tend to fry wires and have oil leaks at that age and model so be on the look out,like I said inspect!!!!!!!!!!
